Thick as Thieves

These two sure are a handful. They love to be naughty together. Sometimes, their naughtiness is just so cute, I can hardly resist them. I have found them in many interesting situations. The first two videos are when I have come downstairs to find them together. (Similar to the oatmeal and goldfish story from last month.) Maybe I shouldn't ever go upstairs. That seems to be the issue. The last video is of them "walking" Dave down the "Y" trail. That one is just thrown in because it's cute.

To interpret...they were on the pantry floor LICKING sugar they had dumped out!

They dumped an entire box of Cheerios on the floor and into the car seat to "feed" Scout's baby doll.

Funny Blog

My sister forwarded me an article from the "Mormon Times" that highlights a girl that is doing a kind of fake blog that pokes fun at the Mormon world of blogging. Thought you might get a kick out of her site. Read her profile. Think that she's hit it on the mark or is she way off base?

Which Jane Austen Character Are You?

I'm not sure that I totally agree with this result. My singing voice is most definitely not captivating! I thought I would fall somewhere between Emma and Elizabeth actually. I don't know if that's good or not...just how it is!

I am Marianne Dashwood!

Scout's Summer Fun

Scout is happy wherever we put her. Unless she's having a girl drama moment (which seem to be more often now). She loves to be in the thick of things and do whatever the big kids are doing. She would spend her life in her bathing suit and new pink shoes (thanks Michelle) if she could. She must get that from me. She adores the water and getting wet at any time of day. She also loves to play in the sandbox for hours. She just lays in it and plays by herself or with others. Coloring and trying to ride the scooter are also high on her list of loves. She wasn't too keen on golfing...just kind of ran around the whole time. Her number one new find this summer has to be Calyn, her little best friend from two doors down. They are so cute when they are together and get so excited to see each other.

Lincoln's Summer Fun

Lincoln enjoys many things about summer, but I think that one of his favorites is running around in his underwear all the time. I try and not let him, but he insists he is always "so hot" and is constantly taking off his clothes, and well, sometimes he's just running around nakey. My neighbors already think I'm crazy to be chasing him down the street, but I'm sure it looks extra funny when he's naked. Such an exhibitionist. Here are some of the more clothed activities he enjoys.
His first experience mini-golfing. Way more interested in the go-carts that the big kids were riding.

Enjoying one of the many carnivals in Utah with Ana. They loved climbing the ropes in the Indiana Jones thing. Wasn't a ride really. But he loved those too.

Slip 'n sliding at his friend, Dallin's house. I don't know what I would do without that wet fun for him to look forward to after "rest time".

His first lemonade stand a few weeks ago with friends. I think (including the missionaries and parents) they got 4 customers.

I asked Lincoln to draw me a picture of himself, and he drew a picture of Tron, Dave's friend's dog. It is a HUGE dog, like Hooch but twice as big and twice as slobbery. Lincoln loved him so much he drew this picture of him. He told me that the spikeys by his face are those whisker things and the drool.

Not the firefighter's wife!

The Sunday right after the fourth Dave was working and so I was looking for anything to do with the kids. Our neighbors did some fireworks in their yard, and Linc asked if we could go out and watch them. So we went out, and I forgot about the quesadilla I started cooking on the stove. Not only forgot about it, but forgot about it for ONE HOUR! As we walked merrily back to the house, we reached the grass and I asked Lincoln what that sound was. And then it all came back to me as I realized it was the smoke alarm. I told the kids to stay on the grass and after I checked the door for heat, I opened it and smoke billowed, yes billowed out of the door. It took about 15 seconds for me to be able to see through it. I ran in and turned off the stove. Luckily all is well, but I now have to get the carpets, my sectional, and the air ducts cleaned. What?! At least I knew to feel the door before I opened it!

By the way, Lincoln tells the story like this. "We heard the wee-roo, wee-roo and then mommy ran in the house and squirted the fire with a hose." Yes, he thinks I'm super cool and no I didn't have to use any water. Maybe now he'll look up to me and not just his father.
