The Thirteenth Tale

Just finished reading this book, which means that I just started paying attention to my kids again. It is true, we've done nothing of record fun-wise for the past couple of weeks. We had a couple weeks of horrid on and off sickness. Thankfully we're over it. But, back to the book. I have to say that I was completely captivated by this book. Thanks again to Tami for recommending it to me. Very odd, gothic type of mystery novel. I've never read anything like it, and really enjoyed it (even if it was a little weird sometimes). If you're looking for something different to read, this would be it.

Hooray for Scout!

Ever since Lincoln started potty-training himself, Scout has been keeping a watchful eye. On occasion she runs up to me and tells me "potty" and sometimes I will take off her diaper and let her sit on the potty. Well, yesterday she said, "poo poo potty" so I took off her diaper and low and behold a minute later she did the deed. Then she went again this morning. Does this mean she's ready? Probably, but we'll see. I don't know how to potty-train children. I can't believe that I've even been given the opportunity to raise them. We'll see how this goes. If anyone has advice, let me know. Beka, I know Tyse was trained at two, right? I'm thinking, since Linc has had a relapse in his potty time, maybe I should train them together. No diapers..... I can't even imagine what that would be like.

Shopping Again!

It seems that the teenagers got a lot of what they wanted this trip. These girls love to shop. We did some shopping in "the big city" this week. One of the places we went was the Down East Clearance Center. The girls had a great time looking for anything with their name or initial on it. Scout fell in love with a blanket with a lamb's head attached to it. That sounds really weird when I write it, but it's actually quite cute. I'll have to take a picture of it. I was so proud of myself. Two days of shopping frenzy and I only bought a blanket that cost $3.00! Later in the day Linc and Dave met us to visit Temple Square. Lincoln thought it was amazing! Then we came home for some more jumping fun and Dave's famous burgers. I've decided that I could way get into having older children just so that they would play with my younger kids. I don't know how to accomplish that now...maybe I'll adopt Abbie, Meili and Carly.

The Glass Castle

I just finished reading "The Glass Castle" and I have to say, it would definitely be a good one for a book club. In fact, my sister, did just use it as her book for her group last month. It is an extraordinary look into the true story of a woman's life who grew up quite differently than I think any of us did. I don't get to read all that often, so it's fun to read different kinds of things. I really enjoyed the book. This one gets people talking. I would suggest it if you are looking for a new book.

A Day Out With the Girls

My sister Natalie came to town and brought my niece Abbie and her friend Carly. They are all so much fun and it's great to have them here. We didn't do much, but Scout and Ana's favorite part was when Aunt Nat bought bread and took them to feed the ducks. They loved it! Scout loved hanging out with the girls and not having a certain boy bug her.

Super Family Party

Linc's been lucky enough to be able to celebrate with lots of his family and friends this weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get very many pictures of his family party. I don't know why. Thank you everyone for loving our little boy!
