Does anyone know how to....?

How to change their template without losing all their extra stuff? Maybe I can figure it out this time, but last time I lost everything extra. Any hints from the very few people who blog who read my blog? Amber maybe?

The last time I changed mine, I lost everything too. I've seen some templates that have extra page elements to hopefully cover everything you have, but I'm still now quite sure. I've been itching to change my background too, so if you figure it out, let me know!

If you use a pre-made template from any site other than blogger you will almost always lose the majority of your sidebar contents. You can always get a back up (so that you can just go back to the old template with the information) by going to Layout, Edit HTML, and clicking Download Full Template. That will save the HTML code for everything as is onto a document on your computer. Then, if you lose everything and want it back the way it was, just open that document, and cut/paste the HTML coding back on the Edit Template text sheet (which is just below the Download Full Template button). Does that make sense? Another thing you can try is finding the 'Sidebar Content' heading in your HTML coding and copying the entire section below the title, then pasting it under the new 'Sidebar' heading once you have changed to the new template. I have never done it before but I would assume that should work. Good luck!
