Scout had been experiencing some pain in her ears off and on for about a week, but it was hard to tell if anything was really wrong. She slept great, and only complained about her ears once in a while. The good mom that I am, I waited probably way too long to go take her to the doctor, just hoping that it would clear up.
She was so excited to go to the doctor since she really never goes. She told all her friends that she was going to get a sticker at the doctor's office and would bat her eyes and frown when we asked if her ears hurt. She insisted upon reclining on the bed even though she didn't have to and laid so still as he examined her. At one point, when he was pushing on her tummy she said, "My tummy doesn't hurt, it's my ears." She told him. He promptly moved on. Once he confirmed it was indeed a pretty severe ear infection (another great mom moment), we went and got a sticker, and she was happy. As we walked out the wind hit her ears and she grabbed them and said, "The doctor forgot to take my owie out!" Poor thing thought it was something stuck in her ear.
About an hour later we met Steve and Debbie at the park. Steve questioned Scout about her visit as she ate her dinner.
Steve: "Scout, what did the doctor say?"
Scout: "Doctor said, no more jumping on the bed!"
Well, to us it was quite hilarious. Reading it doesn't seem quite as funny now. It's fun to listen to Scout and her little voice.

Daryl and I drove to SLC last night. About halfway there, I blurted out, "I didn't talk to Katie once today!." He promptly said, "Neither did I." Sounds like you two need to bond. And sounds like you had quite a day without my influence.

Well, I get to your blog through Whitney's! I am a total blog stalker!! I do think that I will come to Book club again. I just need to read the book. It is probably better if I wait. Then the book is fresh in my mind.

Poor scout. I think that the ear infection issue is one of the more terrible mom issues- their ears hurt and you take them in right away and.... nothing. You wait to just let it go away like last time and it is..."a major infection that looks like it has been there a while and is probably pretty sore...". I love it.
I LOVE her, she is so funny! I am so happy that she is feeling better!
