Christmas Eve/Christmas Morning

This year Dave had to work on Christmas. So, since Santa comes early for Firefighter's families, we celebrated on Christmas Eve morning. Dave got off early at 5:30am so that he could make it home in time to intercept Lincoln (our 6:00am riser). I have fond memories of all five of us kids piling in on my parents bed on Christmas morning. It was a tradition that we all had to start the festivities from their bedroom and then on from that. Well, it was all we could do to keep Lincoln in our bedroom until Scout woke up. Yes, I know we should have just done it without her. But, how could I? Well, after many attempts at watching a movie in bed, eating a snack in bed, reading books in bed - nothing worked. Linc was determined. So, we woke Scout at 6:45am and headed down the stairs in our new Christmas jammies.

An attempt to distract Lincoln with Buzz Lightyear instead of thinking about new presents downstairs.

Finally, discovering the train set (still in the box) that Santa didn't have time to put together.

Displaying some sibling love for about 1.5 seconds in between opening presents.

Not sure if Dave or Scout is more excited to be opening the puzzle that Lincoln gave her.

Linc making sure that Scout understands how puzzles work.

The coveted garbage truck that he has wanted for probably six months.

Thanks to Abbie, Scout has found a new love for horses that aren't a "My Little Pony"

Pretty sure that making a mess of the packing peanuts WHILE I was sweeping them up was the best part of Linc's morning.

Scout got some gummy candy in her stocking and that is immediately what she went back to as soon as she finished unwrapping presents.
