Three Reasons Why I Love Being a Mom Today

No pictures for this post. Just a few reasons why I can fall in love with my children over and over again, even when they drive me crazy. The little things that make us laugh and smile are what keep us going, right?!

-Lincoln said to Dave the other day something along the lines of, "I have to eat all my broccoli so that I can grow tall, tall, tall like you and my head can touch the ceiling." (He won't touch broccoli to save his life.)

-Scout encountered a little spider on the couch the other day and screamed and cried for literally an hour. All the while Lincoln was telling her, "It's okay Scout, I love spiders. They are so good." I guess Scout inherited my fear of spiders. (Which by the way, I do not display this fear to my children at all! I have tried not to pass this on. Apparently, it didn't work.)

-Scout woke up early from her nap the other day, and I was reading a book. I rarely get to read, so I decided to try an experiment and see if she would let me keep reading if I gave her a book and we laid on the bed together. Normally she only reads by herself if I'm busy bustling around. It took her a minute to see that I really wasn't going to read to her, and she finally laid back on the pillow and started reading out loud to herself with her little jibber jabber. A silly, precious little moment as I smiled to myself and thought about years of sharing a bed and a good book with my little girl.

Its the cute little moments like these, that make all of the sleepless nights, and hectic days all worth it.
It is wonderful that Heavenly Father allows us to have these heartwarming moments daily to keep us going.

You are so positive, katie. I love that about you. We all need these moments- too bad they are so often few and far between! What a great example of a great mother!
