Our First FHE
To all those that have been doing FHE since their children were born, yes, this was our first FHE with our children. So sue me! It was all of about 5 minutes long and went very well, with one minor incident. We did the song and then heard one of the most heartfelt prayers from Linc in a long time. The lesson was about our bodies and how we are children of God. I was reading to him out of a book that has several other stories. In the middle of the story Linc yelled out, "When do they cut off their arms?" He wouldn't let it go. So, after we read about baby Jesus we had to read about how Ammon cut off the guys arms. Needless to say, it is his favorite scripture story. Just wait until I read to him Old Testament stories. Tons of blood and gore there. Is that typical or what?

We want to come play with you! I don't work tomorrow....any plans?
Good job for having FHE!! Ours is usually pretty much the same. Their attention span is so short that they can't be much longer than that, or my kids loose it. Familiesinzion.com is a good website for lessons. There are a few that are geared to young kids. The couple of times that I have actually planned ahead and prepared a lesson, Wyatt seemed to be really into it.
Ya, I was so glad that I didn't have to change all of my page elements when I switched templates. SO much better! I got your message a little bit ago, and I will have to see how the girls and I are feeling tomorrow. We've all started getting sick AGAIN. Will it never end? But I will call you in the morning to see how it's going!
It sounds like a great FHE! The Ammon story is a great one! Like the new background--from photobucket--huntsnlove, right? She's great! I think a lady in my ward helps her makes some! -Melissa
PS: You'll have to tell me what you think of the books on your "shelf". I love to read good books. Lora and I are reading "Poisonwood Bible" right now. Have you ever read it? It's interesting--I'm about 1/2 way through now.
Good job on FHE, I'm impressed!
You inspire me. That is one thing I have been wanting to do better. We're hit and miss most weeks. I love Lincoln's enthusiasm.
Our family nights were about 5 minutes long (including treats) when our kids were little. Sad thing is the kids complain still if they run much longer than that.
