Lincoln has an Announcement?

Today was one of those days. Most of you normal moms know what I'm talking about. The kind of day where you are just done. Toward the end of the day the kids were both crying and I leaned my head against the door jam and just let out a big sigh. Lincoln stopped crying, looked up at me and said, "Mom, your tummy is full. Do you have a baby in your tummy?" Thanks to all my pregnant friends that have taught him about the wonders of the prego belly. And no....I am most definitely not!

Book Bound Bloggers

To everyone that commented on an earlier post regarding a online book group, check out the link to the right called "Book Bound Bloggers". I'm just coinciding my neighborhood book group with a blog. You can read along with us if you like, or please feel free to suggest reading material. I'm happy to try and read a book with my online buddies and my neighborhood. Notice the word "try". I'm lucky if I can stay awake to read right now. If there is any interest in the blog from fellow bloggers then we can go from there. For now, we can start with "Stargirl". I know a lot of you have already read it, sorry. But then it will be easy to have read by July 1st.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

I could not ask for a better father for my children, or a better husband for me. I am constantly amazed that Dave can be such an awesome man, even when he is so busy. We love you Daddy/Dave/Superman!

Two babies, some cement, and a late night

Last week I threw a party for two friends that just recently had babies come into their lives. Allison adopted a baby girl and Ruth had a little boy. So, we had some friends come over for a little party and we just ate and ate and talked and squished the little babies. Thanks to my neighbors for bringing such yummy food and making it so fun. The best part of it all was that it turned into a neighborhood BBQ/party. The party started at 5:00 and husbands eventually joined in on the fun. Next thing you know the guys (including little boys) are helping Dave put in a cement curb, and we are hanging out until almost 10:00pm. I love our neighborhood!

Self-induced Time Out Duo

I went to check on Lincoln and Scout before I jumped in the shower this morning. I saw them sitting at the bottom of our stairs (which is our time out spot) and they looked up at me and Lincoln said, "We are on time out mom!" And Scout in her best English said, "Time out mom!". The "why?" was barely out of my mouth when I saw why they had put themselves there. A large bag of goldfish, two bowls of cheerios, and a box of oatmeal packets were very strategically placed all over the rug. After losing it (only slightly, of course) I asked why they would do this. Linc said that they were eating a snack on the rug, and the oatmeal packets were a fence to keep me out. They are becoming thick as thieves and it scares me. I'm sure that me grabbing my camera to capture the moment didn't help in the "that was naughty" reprimand I gave them.

Hair Stylist Wanted

You may have noticed that in every picture Scout's hair is well....a tad bit crazy. Yes, I do comb it, and yes she does resist any hair clips or rubberbands. She then proceeds to run her hands all through her hair after it is combed. But, her best hair comes from bed head. These pictures don't even do it justice. Anyone else have this problem? Where are my sweet friends that know how to do hair when I need them? Well, since you decided to move to California and Virginia, I will have to fend for myself.
