Girls Overnighter

I hate to say it, but I'm one of those moms that has really never been away from her kids. Sometimes special circumstances involve special sacrifices. Now that I've left this weekend (just one night), I don't think that there is any way that Dave is going to keep me home now. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids....but I loved the break. Two of my best friends and I went to Park City for the night. We did, well, next to nothing and I loved every second of it. We barely slept, ate a lot, didn't even play the games we brought, and talked, and talked and talked to the wee hours of the morning. Best night's sleep I've had in a long time! =) Shopping has never been so fun. And anyone that knows me knows I do not like to shop. Everybody needs a little time away, right? Wait, isn't that a line from a Chicago song?

We met our husbands at a restaurant at the end of our day. Then we went mini-golfing and to ice cream. It's been years since I've been on a "date" like that with Dave and friends. We felt so young. So fun!

So sad we missed you, but not too sad...we had a fabulous weekend too! Bad timing! Sheesh, why did I have to get married so close to Mother's Day? I should have known there would be retreats in the future!

yes, we all need a break. Sometimes we're so severe to each other and ourselves as moms. So glad to see you had such a great time--so jealous! :)

I am so glad that you were able to have your first day off from the kids. I too am one who never leaves my kids I love being with them, but it is amazing how refreshed and rejuvenated you feel after being able to have some time to only take care of yourself!!! I am so glad you were able to have a great day and top it off with a date with your hubby! Sounds like you had an awesome day!
